Buying a property on a resort or in a public street?

The first thing to consider when buying a property in Curaçao is determining whether you want to live on a resort or in a public street. A resort in Curaçao does not necessarily mean an all-inclusive resort. It is more like a gated community, which means a gated neighborhood, where all the general duties are centrally regulated. Some of the communities have extra shared facilities, such as a swimming pool, golf course or private beach. The biggest advantage of buying a property in a resort, is that is relatively safe. Children can play on the streets, as people only drive at a foot pace. A minor disadvantage is that by buying a property in Curaçao on a resort, you (most often) will have to pay a monthly fee.

Traffic

When buying a property in Curaçao, a major thing to consider is where to live because of the traffic. Cycling in Curaçao can be dangerous and the public transport is not that well developed. When buying a property in Curaçao, reachability by car is a crucial thing. During rush hour, there are some roads you might want to avoid because of traffic jams. Some examples are the Caracasbay road and the Santa Rosa road.

Wind

The great Caribbean wind provides coolness during the hottest parts of the day. When buying a property in Curaçao, is it advisable to look for a property that has been built on the wind. This provides a steady breeze and can even allow to sleep without the use of an air conditioning. Another advantage of buying a property in Curaçao that has been built on the wind is that the mosquitos are blown away by the wind.
